Quantum wires

Quantum wires, like indium antimonide quantum wire, gallium arsenide quantum wires and Pb quantum wires, are subject to ongoing research as shown in figure 1 and 2. A lot of the reported synthesis procedures include degassing, injection or insertion during the preparation. Amongst the most actively researched properties of quantum wires are emission, photoluminescence decay plot and band gap. Very often quantum wires are characterized by either UV, UV-Vis spectroscopy or transmission electron microscopy. High impact articles within this field report applications in sensors (excluding biosensors), magnetic materials or data storage.
