Quantum wires

Quantum wires, like indium antimonide quantum wire, Pb quantum wires and gallium arsenide quantum wires, are subject to ongoing research as shown in figure 1 and 2. A lot of the reported synthesis procedures include heating, keeping or degassing during the preparation. Amongst the most actively researched properties of quantum wires are band gap, emission and photoluminescence decay plot. Very often quantum wires are characterized by either transmission electron microscopy, UV or UV-Vis spectroscopy. High impact articles within this field report applications in catalysis, sensors (excluding biosensors) or magnetic materials.
