Nanoneedles, like MnO2 nanoneedles, Cu(OH)2 nanoneedles and Cu(OH)2 nanoneedle array on copper substrate, are subject to ongoing research as shown in figure 1 and 2. A lot of the reported synthesis procedures include photolithography, RIE or reactive ion etching/inductively coupled plasma etching during the preparation. Amongst the most actively researched properties of nanoneedles are light reflection, cyclic voltammogram and magnetization. Very often nanoneedles are characterized by either scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy or X-ray diffraction. High impact articles within this field report applications in catalysis, electrodes/electrolytes or medicine/veterinary.
