Nanofibers, like carbon nanofibers, densified sulfonated poly(arylene ether sulfone) nanofibers and densified sulfonated poly(ether ether ketone) nanofibers, are subject to ongoing research as shown in figure 1 and 2. A lot of the reported synthesis procedures include electrospinning, self-assembling or carbonization during the preparation. Amongst the most actively researched properties of nanofibers are emission, tensile stress and cyclic voltammogram. Very often nanofibers are characterized by either scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy or X-ray diffraction. High impact articles within this field report applications in medicine/veterinary, catalysis or energy storage.
