Nanocrystals, like gold nanocrystals, ZIF-8 nanocrystals and Fe-Zn bimetallic ZIF nanocrystals, are subject to ongoing research as shown in figure 1 and 2. A lot of the reported synthesis procedures include precipitation, heating or degassing during the preparation. Amongst the most actively researched properties of nanocrystals are emission, photoluminescence quantum yield and photoluminescence decay plot. Very often nanocrystals are characterized by either transmission electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction or UV. High impact articles within this field report applications in catalysis, optoelectronics or diagnostics.
