Nanochains

Nanochains, like silver nanochain, tetrathiafulvalene nanochains and 7,7,8,8-tetracyanoquinodimethane nanochains, are subject to ongoing research as shown in figure 1 and 2. A lot of the reported synthesis procedures include mixing, magnetic separation or dispersion during the preparation. Amongst the most actively researched properties of nanochains are surface plasmon resonance, localized surface plasmon resonance and tunneling current spectrum. Very often nanochains are characterized by either transmission electron microscopy, scanning electron microscopy or UV. High impact articles within this field report applications in optoelectronics, analysis methods or catalysis.
