Nanobelts, like polyaniline:poly(methyl methacrylate)/Eu(BA)3phen:poly(methyl methacrylate) nanobelt array Janus-typed film, hot pressed bulk SnSe nanobelts and GaS0.5Se0.5 nanobelts, are subject to ongoing research as shown in figure 1 and 2. A lot of the reported synthesis procedures include hydrothermal synthesis, deposition or heating during the preparation. Amongst the most actively researched properties of nanobelts are emission, band gap and electrical conductivity. Very often nanobelts are characterized by either X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy or transmission electron microscopy. High impact articles within this field report applications in catalysis, energy storage or optoelectronics.
